Crunch time at Euro 2020

TAB soccer pool players have a chance to land big wins as the battles for a place in the last-16 stage of the 2020 European Championship intensify in the final group games of the competition tonight and tomorrow.

Tonight and tomorrow see the conclusion of the opening round of the European Championship with key games offering TAB soccer punters the chance to make some good cash.

Several shocks have ensured some plentiful payouts already, while the standard of the football and the excitement has made for a brilliant opening 10 days. Sometimes these tournaments can prove a bore, but this one has been riveting to date.

All four teams in Group D are still in contention tonight as England look to secure top place with a Wembley win over the Czech Republic, but given how poor they were against Scotland that is far from certain.

They are feeling the pressure of all the pre-tournament expectation and captain Harry Kane has particularly been subjected to much criticism for his languid showings so far.

Scotland’s hopes rest on a victory over Croatia, which at the start of the tournament would have seemed a long shot against the World Cup runners-up. But it’s on the cards now because the game is at Hampden Park, handing the Scots a further boost after a morale-boosting performance at Wembley.

The last two groups conclude tomorrow with Germany hot favourites to beat Hungary and maybe even finish top of Group F, despite starting the tournament with a draw against world champions France.

Their comeback against Portugal on Saturday was another reminder that writing the Germans off is done at your own peril.

A German win would guarantee a top-two place. In reality, Portugal need at least a draw against France to go through, although a win would be better for the defending champions.

All eyes will then be on Spain in their last game as they take on tricky Slovakia in Seville, having drawn two in a row there, while Poland and Sweden meet in the other game in St Petersburg.

Slovakia know how to play decisive games. During the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, they beat Italy 3-2 at Ellis Park to progress. And they earned a draw against England at the same stage in Euro 2016 to reach the round of 16.

But Spain should be too strong and Robert Lewandowski could provide salvation for Poland in the other game.
