Why was Classic FM ditched?
Ican only agree with your contributors regarding the demise of our Classic FM. For more than 20 years of entertainment by presenters who knew their music history and knowledge, providing an array of superb selections for all tastes, we have had to accept a new change in format akin to many other radio stations offering the same kind of music ad nauseam, leaving a huge gap in the tried and tested music aired on Classic FM.
What was the reason for the change?
It certainly wasn’t a lack of professionalism or quality presenters (sorely missed at the moment).
It has been replaced with what the new line-up states is “more popular music”.
I think not. It’s the same old, same old boring music found on many other stations.
What a great disappointment. Needless to say, I have switched to another, more enjoyable station on the medium band and DStv audio.
