Sanral brings misery on itself

-

Regarding your recent headline, “E-tolls breaks Sanral’s back”, once upon a time a top government thug, Zumi, called in Al from Sanral. “I’ve got a proposition for you, Al. I want you to build a whole lot of toll gantries all over Gauteng. Every time our stupid people drive under a gantry they will pay a levy and we’ll tell them it’s for road construction.”

“But they are already paying for road construction with the fuel levy,” replied Al.

“Don’t worry” said Zumi. “The drivers will never figure that out and our masterstroke is we will employ an Austrian company to collect the boodle and pay our bit straight into our Dubai bank accounts.”

A couple of years later the toll gantries were in action. But the drivers were not so stupid. They saw through the scheme and didn’t pay. Zumi went to jail and Al will soon follow and the drivers lived happily ever after.

So your headline perhaps should have been “Sanral breaks Sanral’s back”.
