Eskom is a company from hell. Never going to improve units, we suffer, plus tariff increases while not receiving the very service we pay for. Beyond gatvol.

After 20 years, it’s a sad goodbye to The Citizen. The price increase is just unaffordable – almost R10 a day now. Cheers, The Citizen.

Stage 2 load shedding from Wednesday to Monday. Eskom just reminding us what they’re going to do to us if we don’t approve their latest obnoxious tariff increase to fund their corruption. Tony KMHWA

Peter Bachtis, the way petrol is going up it seems the petrol attendants will be the ones giving us tips.

Surely by now, with the corruption, lies and smoke and mirrors of the state, citizens must realise that they are being led deeper into poverty. The state will never create jobs. They are more interested in disempowering people and keeping them poor. The name of the game of the state is to control people. Welcome socialism. Jenny Downs

Nicky Oelofse, thanks for the lovely letter about air travel. With all the doom and gloom in the country, you have brightened my day.

Cartoonist Themba Siwela did it again. He shot between the bull horns. The president of the country is having a good nap. Sorry for Acting Chief Justice Raymond Zondo.

The ANC, the party which promised to create millions of jobs, is now looking to retrench its own loyal workers due to its self-inflicted financial problems. And they promise as government to fix the economy. What a sad state of affairs.

Anon, I know people want decent jobs but that is not what the ANC or the new world order wants. They want us to become dependent on grants, so that they can control the middle class and the poor.

In the sports pages you list the sport shown on DStv and the channels. So why do you ignore ESPN 1 and 2? I watched my local soccer derby (Hibs versus Hearts) last night, not a peep from your listings. Why?

Jack Milner, Racing Express tipster. Once again you were spot on. The Cape Town Met: 5-4-6-11, with Kommetdieding a very popular winner. We all profited, Jack. Thank you.
