Draw favours Humdinger

ADVANTAGE: DE KOCK’S CHARGE HAS THE BENEFIT OF NO 1 DRAW

- Jack Milner

Willow Lane will also be hard to beat in Race 6.

Humdinger has not had the best of draws since transferring from KwaZulu-Natal to Joburg but that will all change on the Inside track at Turffontein tomorrow when she lines up in Race 7, a MR 86 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1450m.

This time she will jump from pole position and should prove very hard to beat. This threeyear-old daughter of What A Winter was a two-time winner from six starts in KZN but them moved to Mike de Kock in February.

Since then she has raced three times for three places, all of them at this track. Two of those runs were over 1600m and perhaps at this stage of her career that could be a touch too far. His best performance came over 1450m where she put in an explosive finish to go down just 0.60 lengths to Fromheretoeternity.

On that occasion she had to jump from No 11 draw, somewhat of a nightmare over this course and distance. This time, from No 1 draw, jockey Richard Fourie will be able to position her nicely and that should see her notch up her first victory on the Highveld.

There could be another possible banker for Pick 6 players one race earlier where Paul Peter sends out Willow Lane in Race 6, a MR 70 Handicap for fillies and mares, also over 1450m.

She came back from a twomonth break last time to contest a race over 1600m at this course and scored an impressive threelength victory over Queen Bomi. She received a 3kg penalty for that victory and could still be better than rated.

Of course, as we saw on Saturday at Turffontein, the stable is in devastating form and is certainly worth following.

Once again Warren Kennedy will be in the irons and Willow Lane is nicely drawn at No 4.
