Tinder is on a dawn mission

DISTANCE: TINDER DRY TO BENEFIT FROM INCREASE IN TRIP TO 2600M

- Muzi Yeni

Floreana Island is Muzi’s best ride at Greyville.

Last weekend saw the running of the Grade 2 Guineas and Fillies Guineas at Hollywoodbets Greyville and the horse who impressed me most was Pomp And Power.

He showed good pace and stayed on strongly and his form suggests he will be even better once he goes over further, so I’m taking him out of last weekend’s racing as an early selection for the Hollywoodbets Durban July.

Congrats to all the connections involved with all the winners on the day and I was really happy to bag a winner with Vasilikos, who I made mention of as my best ride of the day, so I’m hoping that helped punters.

Today sees the running of the WSB 1900 which is always a good pointer to the July and I make it an open race. But the old man, Do It Again, sets the standard on best form.

He is well in at the weights and clearly loves Greyville so he is the horse to beat.

Litigation is the main danger. He comes in with a light weight and it will be interesting to see how the three-year-old performs.

My best ride on the card is Floreana Island in Race 4 and I make her the horse to beat. She will enjoy the track and I think it’s a good opportunity for her to shed her maiden tag.

Racing tomorrow takes place on the Inside track at Turffontein and there is an eight-race card to preview.

I am carded for seven rides and once again I feel some of them will be very competitive and I’ll be hoping to bag a winner or two.

Race 1 is a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1450m and I think Shikoku will take all the beating.

She is running well and her form sets the standard. The stable and jockey are also in good form so whatever beats her will win.

The main danger is Chopsticks after a good last run and she could still improve. Twice A Miracle and In The Ether are others to consider.

Race 2 is a Maiden Plate over 1450m and I ride Simple Man who ran a fair race on debut 10 days ago. I’m hoping he can bounce back with further improvement to feature.

The horse to beat off draw No 1 is Never To Clever, who was unlucky last week and could go one better.

Flow Forever, Alabaster and Top Sail are the main dangers and all have winning claims.

Race 3 is a Maiden Plate over 1800m and I ride House Master who has a small place chance in this field but will have to improve to win.

My best bet on the card comes up in the form of Dawn Mission. He was a little bit unlucky last time and everything looks right for him to shed his maiden tag.

Blonde Act gets blinkers fitted and is the main and immediate danger.

These horses should get you

through all your bets.

Race 4 is a MR 74 Handicap for fillies and mares over 2600m and I ride Zazu who again would have to improve on her recent form to feature.

My value bet on the card, however, is Tinder Dry. She ran in a Grade 2 last time and wasn’t disgraced. This is a huge drop in class and I think she can benefit from that.

Aryaam and Flying First Class are the main dangers and can be included into wider bets.

Race 5 is a Graduation Plate over 1500m and I ride Sound Of Hounds who is a very nice horse, and although out at the weights must be included.

I think Miss Elegance is the filly to beat because things didn’t go according to plan last time and she can bounce back.

Ultra Quick tries this trip and if he stays rates a danger. Prairie Falcon ran a cracker last time and must be included into all bets.

Team Gold was very unlucky last time and needs to be included in all bets.

Race 6 is a Pinnacle Stakes over 1500m and it’s a small but very competitive field so go as wide as the budget allows.

I ride Sentbydestiny who is the best weighted horse and because of that I make her the filly to beat.

She is racing fit and comes out of a Grade 1 race so she sets the standard.

Class horse Bingwa is the main danger, having his first run for his new stable.

Sound Of Summer and Sovereign Spirit are others to include as well as the Sean Tarry stable companions, Willow Express and Bowie.

Race 7 is the Listed Syringa Handicap over 1600m for fillies and mares and I ride Ululate who is in good form and has a place chance in this field.

I think Homely Girl sets the standard and could be hard to beat having her third run after a rest.

Caralluma won well last time and that form could be franked earlier on the card so she must be respected while Florentine is another

with a chance.

Race 8 is a MR 80 Handicap over 1450m. I ride War Jewel who is out of form at the moment but I’m hoping he can improve and run into the money.

Bloomington won a lovely race last time and on that he is the horse to beat and can back it up again.

Noble Sniper is a nice horse and drops in class, so he is the main danger.

Kotinos and Timbavati River both come off rests and if fully wound up must be included.
