Eskom must deal with sabotage swiftly

Penalty for somebody convicted of this crime should be life imprisonment, writes Realist.

It has been reported that part of the Eskom power cut problem, or load shedding as they quaintly call it, is in fact sabotage. Methinks this should be classified as terrorism as it could sink South Africa overnight and create hunger and death.

The penalty for somebody convicted of this crime should be life imprisonment with no chance of parole or preferably just, “string ’em up”.

It seems to me that the Eskom security set-up is totally useless, a bunch of dumb wimps, as they never seem to either catch the criminals before they act or prosecute anybody afterwards.

A tough, hard-headed specialist, maybe an imported ex-military intelligence man, with plenty of hands-on experience is necessary to head up this position.

André de Ruyter has to address this problem immediately and not let it drag on endlessly until we go under.
