Armenia locks up protesters

Yerevan – Police in Armenia arrested 300 protesters yesterday as opposition supporters sought to spread their month-long antigovernment demonstrations throughout Yerevan.

Armenia’s capital has been gripped by antigovernment protests since mid-April, with opposition parties demanding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation over his handling of a territorial dispute with Azerbaijan. –
