Win big on World Pools at Greyville

-

The Champions Cup race meeting at Hollywoodbets Greyville tomorrow is set to provide a sensational final act to the 2021-22 South African horseracing season with hundreds of millions of rand being wagered on the tote locally and abroad.

It’s an all-feature-race meeting and the racing action will be straight out of the top drawer with four Grade 1 events and the country’s premier equine marathon.

A R2-million TAB4Racing Pick 6 carryover should generate a mega pool of some R12 million and there’s also a R500,000 carryover to the Quartet on the Mercury Sprint, which should yield a total pool of about R3 million. With a maximum field of 14 runners, there’s every chance of a bumper payout for TAB customers who correctly forecast the first four home in this Grade 1 clash.

And to add even more excitement to the penultimate day of the racing season, Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) World Pools will be in operation on Races 2 to 10. As was the case last year, the races will be televised live in Hong Kong with the HKJC tote offering its normal range of bets to customers.

South African Win, Place, Swinger and Quinella tote pools on the nine races will be commingled into the HKJC World Pools and tote customers can go big on these bet types without fear of significantly depressing dividends. As an example Swinger pools on the nine races last year averaged R17.1 million and Quinella pools slightly less at R16.8 million.

Total gross turnover on the nine races last year was a staggering R628 million with R528 million bet by Hong Kong punters and the remainder coming from South Africa and other international partners. Full TAB betting details are below.
