Feed excess solar power into grid

What a shock to wake up to stage 6 load shedding. For years now, private businesses and homes have been asking to be allowed to feed back their excess solar generated power into the grid.

This would play a small, but significant, role in allowing Eskom to regenerate hydroelectric storage and build up reserves. The president has announced that this is one of the components to help solve the energy crisis.

Still, nothing is being done to make this possible and municipalities still refuse to let us do this. Most hybrid solar systems can easily and safely be configured to do this immediately.

So, we continue to throw away excess solar power every day, so that we can be punished with stage 6 load shedding. All because of the political fixation with control and avoidance of privatisation.
