Juju party poopers no match for Chomee act

-

YOUTH Day is not Uncouth Day, peeps!

There your Skinnerbek was enjoying all the day’s festivities at the Wolfson Stadium in Kwazakhele, when all hell broke loose.

Well, it was actually those Juju fans on the loose – and you know just how excitable they can get about their expelled ANC Youth League boss. Eish! This was not supposed to be about Juju but about youth – the young people of our land who are facing some pretty tough times.

Talk about party poopers, you Juju junkies! Storming the stage where we were being treated to some first-rate performers and forcing the ANC military veteran heavies to get a little heavy-handed. But hey, it wasn’t all bad. Your Gossip Girl thought the entertainment – just after the speakers had left, in the second part of the programme – was absolutely fabulous.

Traditional dancers and hip-hop groups performed, and, when local outfit Shoelace took the stage by storm (the Juju super-poopers had nothing on these guys when it comes to stormin’!) they belted out some of the songs that have catapulted them on to the national scene.

No wonder, they were chosen to open for R&B star Usher when he was in the country recently.

Port Elizabeth artist Pakes also entertained the revellers with his hit songs but the big crowdpleaser was Chomee and her four gyrating dancers, who mesmerised the peeps with her Jiver Sexy song.

But now here’s something, skinner lovers. The Hlokoloza hit-maker, Chomee, took off her jacket and hung it on a microphone stand, promising to give it to a fan.

Nice gesture, oh yes – but at the end of the show, she left without having given it away!

Maybe she just forgot, maybe she was cold, or maybe she realised that if that’s how good her jacket looked on a skinny microphone stand, it must look a whole lot more stunning on her.

That’s okay, Chomee – you turned on the heat with your troupe and made the whole crowd warm up very nicely anyway!
