THE Herald Clover Kids and Baby Expo runs during this month’s first school holiday weekend and offers an exciting – and free – indoor entertainment programme.

Once visitors have paid the expo entrance fee, there will be no charge for activities in the entertainment programme. The fun will begin at the Moffett on Main Lifestyle Centre on Friday to Sunday September 28 to 30, from 9am to 5pm. The Eastern Cape’s largest family expo is endorsed by Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism.

Port Elizabeth’s Mzansi Magic talent winners will perform and the Woodridge School marimba band will welcome guests.

The Herald stand will put on daily “lifesize” character puppet shows at 10am and 1pm. Another lifesize character, Mr Pritt, will hand out Pritt packs to all children. Cartoon characters Winnie the Pooh, Dora the Explorer, Barney and friends will also have fun with the little ones.

The Tropika Carnival will be hosting active fun reminiscent of a circus playpark, ranging from putting, boxing and goal shooting, using football and netball balls and so forth.

After the action, families can wander down to the DStv movie chill zone that has an all-day kids’ BBC channel, free popcorn and two daily screenings of children’s movie classics courtesy of Cousin’s DVD.

There will be an amazing internet lounge, situated near the 3 Fat Fish catering stalls, that will enable children to surf the net safely, while mom and dad check out the latest home entertainment gadgets and products from RBS Computers.

There will be many expo exclusive specials on offer. And with there being more than 100 stands, there will be plenty of variety for shoppers and visitors are encouraged to look out for many specials.

“There is wonderful convenience and families will be spoilt for choice, with the latest in family products and services all under one roof,” said event organiser Linda Harwood.

A fully equipped baby changing room – decorated by Honeychild with baby essentials supplied by Dis-chem – will provide comfort for mothers and their tots. The cafe area will have a baby food warming facility.

Entrance to the expo is R25 for adults and R20 for children.
