Man questioned over Greenshields Park murder
AUTHORITIES are questioning a 20-year-old man from Walmer township after receiving a tip-off that he was seen carrying a computer thought to have been stolen during a house robbery in Greenshields Park that left Shaun Mould, 44, dead.
Yesterday, detectives confirmed they were questioning a man possibly linked to the rob- bery, but maintained that they were still exploring all leads.
Police spokeswoman Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said yesterday that the man was taken in for questioning and had not yet been charged.
“He is being questioned after a tip-off that he was in possession of some of the stolen equipment. After the information was received, detectives arrested him,” she said. “They searched his house and known hangouts but none of the stolen items have been recovered.”
Janse van Rensburg said that after an interrogation, a decision would be taken on whether or not to charge the man.
This comes only a day after police offered a substantial reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of any of the four robbers involved in the murder.
Mould was shot dead during a robbery at his Saunton Road home at about 4am on Sunday. His body was found eight hours later by his 18-year-old nephew, Jacques. The house had been ransacked and items stolen.
