Know a dynamic young Bay business star? Nominate them
THERE is only a week to go before the close of nominations for dynamic young businesspeople making waves in the Nelson Mandela Bay business sector in the second instalment of the business chamber’s Top 40 Under 40 campaign.
The list, which will be launched next month, will showcase young business owners and company employees making a name for themselves in the Bay under a theme focused on innovators and entrepreneurs.
The Top 40 Under 40 campaign aims to recognise the potential of young business leaders and corporate stars making a positive impact on the business environment through new business ideas or a commitment to their respective industries.
Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber spokeswoman Nicole Klokow said the campaign aimed to celebrate the contribution young businesspeople were making in the Bay.
“There are some amazing people doing amazing things – both as entrepreneurs and in the corporate environment – and this is their chance for recognition.
“The business chamber believes there is enormous potential in every sector of business in Nelson Mandela Bay, and young business deserves every chance to succeed,” she said.
Last year’s Top 40 Under 40 list included Eliox Group chief executive and member of the Presidency’s national planning commission Bridgette Gasa, Access Facilities and Leisure Management general manager Buli G Ngomane, and Port Elizabeth estate agent Jaco Rademeyer.
Eligible for nomination are business owners or company em- ployees operating in the Bay who are members of the business chamber, or work for a member company.
They should be under the age of 40 and have a good standing in the community – meaning they should have no criminal record and should not have been financially blacklisted.
Klokow said quite a number of nominations had already been received for “high-achieving people” whose influence was widely felt in the Bay.
“We are looking this year for the innovators and entrepreneurs who are making a difference in their organisation,” she said. “They explore new ideas, increase productivity and raise company profiles.”
Nominations, which close on Friday next week, can be made on an online form on the business chamber’s website.
