Country deteriorating under ANC

WHERE’s the democracy we fought for? I used to love South Africa, mostly because we were able to overcome the problems of apartheid.

Yes, I still blame the white people for the suffering of our black people, but now we have to work at the future. I was fortunately not a victim of apartheid, but am very aware of the wounds inflicted.

This government is failing the people, the same people who voted it into power. When they are in power they forget about people, all they care about is occupying positions and tenders.

They forget that when it is the voting day there are people who are old, some are pregnant, some are very sick and cannot even walk, some are mentally disabled, some are physically disabled, all of these people go and cast their vote because they believe by doing so they want their lives to be better. Politicians don’t care about the poor, they are fighting for themselves and their families to be rich at the expense of the poor.

Nowadays for a person to get a job, they must be politically connected, females must sleep with the men before they can get a job. Politicians are saying nothing for mahala (nothing).

South Africa is going down the drain.

I would like to compliment the media for exposing these corrupt officials. You are doing a good job. They are trying to silence the media – we will pray this will never happen.

People like Govan Mbeki, Thabo Mbeki and Smuts Ngonyama who fought for freedom of expression were the true comrades, not these fake politicians. All politicians are the same, they are power hungry and greedy.

I was reading The Herald when I came across an article about Andile Lungisa complaining about the salary he was getting as chairman of NYDA (“R400m ‘not enough’ for youth agency”, May 30). Apparently he is earning R50 000 per month.

You should be ashamed of yourself, bra. How many people are getting less than what you are getting, people who work from Monday to Sunday, people who work under very difficult conditions than you, but you don’t hear them complaining?

I wish one day all politicians could be punished for the wrong things that they have done.

One day we will pray for the downfall of the ANC the same way we prayed for the downfall of the apartheid government.

I love the ANC, but this is not the ANC of Julius Malema. This ANC has been hijacked by the Communist Party.

If you disagree with this government you will be expelled from the party like they did with Malema.

Malema did nothing wrong, he was fighting for us black people.

Not all politicians are corrupt, but I can safely say about 96% of them are corrupt. You don’t know who to trust in this country, the police are corrupt.

Every year when the public servant employees have to get an increment, there must first be a strike which leads to service delivery being compromised. These days I don’t think we were supposed to strike if we wanted an increment.

This government is failing to fight crime. The reason for that is because they are not the victims of crime, they’ve got bodyguards who protect them 24 hours a day and they are driving the most expensive cars.

Their lives are not in danger.

They don’t care when there are strikes because their children go to private schools. Some go to school overseas. Education in the Eastern Cape and Limpopo is under administration because they employed the wrong people who are not qualified.

How can you expect a person to perform his/her task diligently if he/she doesn’t have any formal qualification?

People of South Africa, let’s face the reality. The ANC government has failed the people.

Come 2014, South Africa will be the next Zimbabwe.
