Rademeyer scoops top award
NELSON Mandela Bay estate agent Jaco Rademeyer has scooped the prestigious Eastern Cape Property Icon of the Year award at the Greyvensteins Property Achiever Awards.
Rademeyer, owner and principal of Jaco Rademeyer Estates, said yesterday he was deeply honoured and called the award the highlight of his career, despite having received numerous national awards.
The awards, which took place last week at Lake de La Vie, are held annually to recognise those who achieve in the local property industry.
It is sponsored by Greyvensteins, Absa, Standard Bank, FNB, Nedbank and SA Home Loans, among others. Rademeyer said a panel interviewed candidates on their knowledge of the country’s property industry, their professionalism, marketing skills, knowledge of legislation and other property- related matters.
“It is amazing. This is definitely the highlight of my career, even though I have been recognised at a national level before.
“I believe this award is more important because of the effort we have done to try to put Port Elizabeth on the property map,” he said.
Rademeyer received R10 000 in prize money, which he has donated back to the Real Estate Network System that governs the local real estate industry.
The money will be used to secure a top motivational speaker at an event in February.
Earlier this year, Rademeyer was honoured at the Mail & Guardian Young South Africans awards which celebrates the 200 most influential young South Africans across different categories.
He has also received numerous other awards for selling a high number of units and for most commission earned.
