DJ Pastor showcases PE on small screen
NOT happy with just the airwaves, Umhlobo Wenene DJ Pastor Nozewu is now also taking to the small screen.
Nozewu, 37, who produces and co-presents Umhlobo Wenene’s morning breakfast show BEE, is adding a television show to his credentials – Bay TV’s Around the Bay with Pastor.
The show, which started yesterday and will air on Wednesdays at 8.30pm, will showcase Port Elizabeth.
“We will profile prominent people from PE, including sport stars, artists and presenters, for both SABC TV and radio,” he said.
Last night’s show featured Umhlobo Wenene’s Putco Mafani. Nozewu said he had had a call from Bay TV’s deputy station manager, Lungile Nduvane, who wanted him to do a show.
“That was not a problem as I did radio and TV years ago. I must say with all the improvising and scriptwriting on radio, it did not take me long to get it right. Radio and TV are a two-way thing as they go along together,” he said.
And when not behind the mic or camera, Nozewu is happy at home with his wife of 11 years, Lulu, and their children, Lwethu, 9, Phawu, 3, and Luhle Lunje, 2.
“In whatever I do, my family comes first,” he said.
