A PORT Elizabeth teen can cross off singing on stage with her idol, Lady Gaga, from her bucket list.

Andrea Boudrey, 17, made history by being the only South African and only the second fan to perform with “Monster Mother” – at the Born This Way Ball in Cape Town on Monday night.

Andrea, of Walmer, was one of six “little monsters” chosen from the monster pit to share the stage with the colourful and very expressive multi-award winning pop, electronic, dance and rock singer.

Andrea said she took advantage of that moment and asked the Poker Face singer to do a duet. They sang Born This Way.

“The experience was unbelievable. I never imagined that I would ever share a stage with her. I will cherish that moment for the rest of my life. It is by far the highlight of my life.

“I waited for four years to go to her show. I also waited for her at the airport for 14 hours and it was worth it. She also gave me the queen’s crown [tiara] that she usually wears on stage. Now I don’t know what to put on my bucket list,” she said.

Andrea said she had received the R715 monster ticket, the closest seats to the stage, as a late birthday present from her cousins. “That was a great present, but sharing the stage with her was the biggest gift. I must thank them because I would not have been there if it was not for them in the first place.

“If you would get me a car, record label deal or a mansion, there might be a bit of competition for the best Christmas present,” Andrea said.

The Grade 11 Victoria Park High School pupil, who is in the school choir and takes music as a subject, said she would like to follow in Lady Gaga’s footsteps. “But not the clothes that she wears because they are too revealing.”

Andrea said she was not ner- vous about singing “because I sing at every chance I get”.

“Backstage she autographed my CD and gave me advice. She said ‘You’re an FU rock star and shouldn’t care an F what other people think because they will always be negative.’ It was the best day of my life.”

Since coming back from her once-in-a-lifetime experience on Tuesday, Andrea has reached rock star status, with TV and radio interviews. “I have also been getting a lot of calls and messages.”
