Ex-ambassador’s nephew murdered

-

THE nephew of former SABC head and ambassador to the UN Riaan Eksteen has been found bludgeoned to death in Pretoria.

Louis Eksteen, 45, was found by his mother and two security guards in the bathroom of his Garsfontein home on Saturday.

His tenant and his bakkie are missing. Eksteen, who ran his own delivery business, is believed to have been killed early last week.

Described as an “incredibly social person”, he is believed to have tried to fight off his attacker before he died.

Nothing had apparently been taken from Eksteen’s home except his Mahindra bakkie. A spokesman said the family were devastated.

“Louis was a decent person . . . he did not deserve to die in this barbaric way,” he said.

A police spokesman said no arrests had been made.
