Punish the bad cops and help the good ones to do their jobs

-

ARREST quotas in police have been stopped long ago. The performance enhancement process is just a guideline. Most members do not even make one arrest a month, let alone 10.

Civil claims are just a way for lawyers to make money. The police service is seen as a milking cow.

You know your station area, where drug use is a big problem, the location of drug posts , the dealers and runners etc, so when somebody comes from that address/ area or loiters around there, you can expect to find drugs on them.

You ask to search the person, he declines, you still search him (the Criminal Procedure Act gives you that right).

You find the drugs, arrest him, he is found guilty in court, pays a fine and then sues you for illegal search.

Everything is done within your rights, but you are still sued. It really is becoming a big joke.

You must fight crime, but your hands are tied.

I shall not make excuses – there are useless, corrupt and too-clever-for-their-own-good cops, who break the law and think they are untouchable, who give the police a bad name.

Punish them and start taking the money from their salaries and pension.

They must feel it, where it hurts the most. They will quickly have a change of mind and work within the law and their rights.
