Angolans crash out of ‘Big Brother Africa’

- Nomaswazi Nkosi

ANGOLAN hopes of claiming the Big Brother Africa title were dashed on Sunday when their two hopefuls were given the boot.

Biguesas, 29, and Neyll, 32, from the Diamond house, were sent packing after receiving the fewest votes, eliminating them from potentially winning the R3-million prize.

Neyll seemed saddened by his unexpected departure from the house.

When asked how he was feeling, he let out a long sigh before responding:

“Today I’m feeling better. It was unexpected because I was not nominated and I was swapped [at] the last minute. The experience was fun, but I was still getting into the game and I liked the pressure. It was all good.”

He added that his main goal hadn’t been to win money, but to get exposure.

“I‘m hoping to get deals, mostly in Angola, in radio and TV,” he said.

He tipped Beverly from Nigeria as the one to watch for the top prize. “She’s nice and has a strong personality,” he said.

Biguesas said his eviction had not surprised him.

“I was in the Ruby house then got swapped [to the Diamond house] and then I got sick.

“So I could not interact and get along with the other housemates.”

He advised the rest of the housemates not to concentrate only on the cash. “It will make you go crazy if you’re evicted.” He said he disliked the behaviour of some people in the house.

“Everyone pretends to be each other’s friend while they speak badly about each other behind their backs,” he said.

His future is still uncertain as he quit his banking job in Angola to join the Big Brother Africa house.

“I don’t know if they will take me back, but for now I want to rest and relax,” he said.
