Talk on tik at Gelvan Athletic Club race

A TIK awareness campaign will be conducted by popular northern areas DJ Mr Shakes at the 15km race/walk organised by the Gelvan Athletic Club tomorrow.

The race starts and ends at the Gelvandale Superspar and includes a 4km fun run.

Late registrati­on can be made at the Gelvandale swimming pool from 5.30pm till 7.30pm today and from 5.30am tomorrow.

The 15km race starts at 6.15am with the 4km at 6.30. Entry fee is R35 for the 15km and R10 for the 4km. A temporary licence (15km only) costs R25. More info from Deon Smith on 072-111-1354 or Desire Ebrahim on 079-490 0559

TOMORROW is Internatio­nal Parkrun Day which commemorat­es the launch of parkrun on October 2004.

The Hobie Beach parkrun was launched by Bruce Fordyce in August. It takes place every Saturday, starting at 8am.
