HOW long have you been in the property market? Eight years What made you decide to become an estate agent and what did you do before entering the profession? Opportunity – and I was a registered nurse before real estate. What qualifications do you have? NQF4 and PDE4 What is the most frustrating part of being an estate agent? When buyers waste my time by saying they want to buy but when you find them the ideal house they say: “No, we were just looking”. What was the most satisfying experience you have had as an estate agent? Matching the correct house to the correct client. What advice would you give to first-time buyers with regard to affordability and what their best buy would be? I would recommend a good bond consultant first, to guide them through the affordability, and then consult with this bond consultant to see what they can afford and then advise my clients. What advice would you give to ensure that they don’t lose their property when the interest rates go up? Again I shall make sure that the bond consultant can give advice all the time to these first-time buyers. And I shall advise them not to fall behind on bond payments. Move or improve: what is the best option? Both have good and bad. Make sure you weigh up all the options with your clients first. What is the average price for property in Jeffreys Bay? R866 303 Which areas can one find bargains when looking for options to buy? Bargains are all over in Jeffreys – just depends on what you think is a bargain. Do you give advice on how to obtain a bond? I consult with our bond consultants all the time. Buying or renting, which is the better option at present and why? There seems to be more people wanting to rent but buying will always remain better option. Do you feel that the property market has turned the corner? Most certainly. What do you do to relax? Watch TV, walk on the beach, spend time with my mom in her kitchen, just relax with family and play with my dogs.
