What is your declaration song when in a dark pit?

-

“I WAITED patiently for the Lord, he turned to me and heard my cry, he lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand, he put a new song in my mouth.”

This psalm was uttered by David while in a dark pit and when he was filled with anxiety and confusion. However, in spite of it all he professes that the Lord lifted him up.

Indeed, that is true testimony of the Almighty God we serve and who is able to remove the shackles that bind us.

There comes a time in our lives when we feel like the presence of God has left us; when the pains and crucifixion of earthly matters steal our joy.

However, be comforted in your moans and groans knowing that God knows your pain all too well and that, in the appointed time, he will restore you and give you his peace and comfort. The only thing that you have to do is praise him in the middle of the storms.

I do not know what predicament you may find yourself in. It may be the loss of a loved one; it may be retrenchment or financial restraints. But we know that for every trial there is a divine purpose.

Stay on the path and remember that Proverbs 18:21 says: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue”.

Therefore, what do you do when you are thrown in a dark pit? What is your declaration song whilst tied to the discomforts of this world?

Dust yourself up and sing songs of praise, because greater is he who lives in you.
