BRADLEY Bopp underlined his allround credentials and Lloyd Brown continued his batting form as the Warriors secured an exciting six-wicket win over the Titans in the CSA Cubs’ Cricket Week in Stellenbosch on Tuesday.

The former Grey High pupils must have caught the selectors’ eyes for the SA squad heading to the under-19 World Cup in Dubai next month. The squad is to be announced tonight.

Facing a decent Titans total of 237/9 in 50 overs, Bopp secured the nail-biting victory with an unbeaten 87. He shared a 104-run stand for the third wicket with Brown, who added 58 to scores earlier in the week of 39 and 76.

Earlier, Bopp was the pick of his side’s attack, taking 3/48.

Meanwhile, the Cape Cobras suffered a heavy defeat against the South Africa U17s at the Van der Stel field. A player from their own backyard, Dayyaan Galiem (4/13) of Rondebosch Boys’ High, was the chief destroyer as the Cobras were shot out for 58.

The SA U17s reached their target in the 18th over, with opening batsman Grant Roelofsen (28no) the main contributor.

The Knights kept their chances of reaching the final of the tournament alive with a comprehensive six-wicket victory over the Dolphins. Knights opening bowlers Patrick Kruger (3/27) and Aiden Brooker (2/17) had the Dolphins in early trouble at 28/5.

The Dolphins’ innings was revived by a 54-run, last-wicket stand between Sibonelo Makhanya (69) and Lwandisa Zuma, who scored 11 not out.

In the match between the Highveld Lions and Zimbabwe, Bradley Dial (77) struck his half century off 42 deliveries. In reply, Zimbabwe could only manage 113, giving the Lions a hefty 134-run victory.
