MIDDLE EAST CONFLICT STIRS UP A HORNET’S NEST AMONG READERS

-

ISRAEL belongs to the Jews, the people of God. It was never the Palestinians! Hamas use women and children as human shields, while sending hundreds of rockets into Israel! ANON WHO started it? If someone started shooting rockets into SA what would SA do? ANON ACCORDING to a 2012 paper written for the Journal of Palestine Studies, Hamas used children to help them dig numerous tunnels into Israel and Egypt. The paper, titled Gaza’s Tunnel Phenomenon: The Unintended Dynamics of Israel’s Siege, says that little had been done to stop the phenomenon of child labour during the digging of the tunnels by Hamas in Gaza. In December 2011, the paper’s author, Nicolas Pelham, accompanied a police patrol in Gaza and reported that “nothing was done to impede the use of children in the tunnels, where, much as in Victorian coal mines, they are prized for their nimble bodies.” He said that “at least 160 children have been killed in the tunnels, according to Hamas officials.” ANON THE news headlines, editorial comments and Saturday Insight are so Hamas and Palestine biased, I can only imagine the Weekend Post is campaigning heavily for a second holocaust at least in Port Elizabeth. Go to

https://www.facebook.com/idfonline This is bone-chilling stuff. Get an insight into what is really happening and what the mind of Hamas is about. JACQUES PRO-PALESTINIAN supporters, where are your human rights protests when the elderly and young are raped and murdered in your own country? Do you not bother or care about South African lives?. Stop wasting our time with your propaganda. WARREN BOCEK WHAT kind of newspaper do you run? You seem to be extremely biased in your sensationalist comments and headlines. All making Israel the villain and Palestinians the poor victims. What would you do if one of our neighbours fired over 2 000 rockets at Cape Town or Johannesburg ? There are always two sides to a story; your duty as journalists is to tell both of them. Then the readers can make up their own minds. FRANK, PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN OF JEWISH FAITH THANDILE Kona, do you not regard the merciless murder and rape of Christians by Muslims in Syria as worse than apartheid, if you do please write about it. Play

fair. ANON SUCH support for terrorists in Gaza – what about the hundreds of thousands dying in Syria? No protest for that! Double standards? Think! MARK BRUCE Woolard: the Arabs see their children being killed, so do you think they can have peaceful feelings towards the Israelites? Also the people Moses led out of Egypt now live in Palestine, the current Jews in Israel emigrated from Europe. God says in the Bible because the Jews refuse to listen to Him they will forever be a wandering nation but they are killing the Palestinians for their land! FREE PALESTINE BRUCE Woolard what are you smoking? Must be tik to write that trash. DISGUSTED, PE

BRUCE Woolard “Prays peace” but on his terms! That never works. They say “it takes two to tango” but that isn’t true! The truth is, it takes two to agree to peace and then to maintain that peace! He says: “Israel will emerge as a ‘super power and bring lasting peace and equity to all nations”. It seems BW believes in fairy tales – and they all lived happily ever after! To gain a more realistic view I hope you read the editorial in the Weekend Post of Saturday July 26. Or you could watch John Pilger’s film Palestine

is Still the Issue or read Noam Chomsky or Edward Said. Not one is anti-Semitic! Just honest, realistic and concerned about humanity! JW THE rockets sent by Hamas on a daily basis caused the start of this conflict yet again. Where are the Muslim men? Why don’t they fight against Hamas, this horrendous terrorist organisation, who hide behind women and children and hide their own faces? What disgusts me even more is you parade your child’s face on the front page of the paper in your protest march. Leave your children at home, they have no place in any conflict! Every war in every country has radical Muslims fighting against “infidels”. Your peaceful religion is against anyone who is not a Muslim. When your religion accepts other religions, then and only then, there might be peace. We don’t try and convert you, so don’t force your religion on us. Every war is about religion. Why are you not protesting about all the people being killed in Kenya, or where they are killing innocent people? DISGUSTED WHY do the pro-Palestine protesters not go and live there? Why involve SA if they feel they are Palestinian? CURIOUS
