ST DOMINIC’S Priory will celebrate their Feast Day today, ahead of their Founders Weekend activities, with a public lecture that will also feature the school’s music staff. The school’s Founders Weekend celebrations will include a range of events, with all past and present pupils, staff and parents connected to the school, invited to join in on the festivities.

Today will kick off with a cheese and wine feast, with Leon Mostert joining the public lecture. The school’s music staff will then entertain pupils and staff for the rest of the evening.

Tomorrow will start off with the school celebrating mass, followed by tea in the hall. Visitors will then be taken on a trip down memory lane, as pupils lead them on guided tours.

This will be followed by a celebration dinner, where members will each make up a table of their choice with ex-classmates, parents and their reunion group.

The dinner will include a cash bar with wine, beer and soft drinks. Members can also bring refreshments of their choice.

To end off the Founders Weekend, past pupils and parents will make up teams and compete at the school’s sport festival that will include inter-house events and past pupil and parent matches.

The cheese and wine evening costs R20 per person and tomorrow night’s dinner is R190 per person. Tickets are available from Evie Raubenheimer at the school.

St Dominic’s Priory School principal Greg Stokell said Founders Weekend was a community event and open to all past pupils.

“This annual event is always well planned therefore all school schedules have to be adjusted in order to accommodate those present.

“We give all glory and honour to God,” he said.
