Collegiate boast unbeaten run at waterfront event

-

COLLEGIATE enjoyed an unbeaten run when the fourth annual Oakhill Waterfront Festival took place in Knysna at the weekend at Thesen Island Quay Four.

Known for its uniqueness as the only open-water water polo tournament in Africa, the festival caters for the top B league girls’ and boys’ water polo teams from around the country.

Collegiate played against seven of the country’s top B league girls’ teams and proved to be a formidable force, working well as a unit throughout the three-day event.

The team returned home with a sense of accomplishment at being the only unbeaten Eastern Cape girls’ team.

Special mention must be made of Emma Hobson, who was voted by the team’s opponents as the most valuable player from Collegiate.

Collegiate’s results were: beat Fishhoek 3-0, beat Clarendon 3-0, beat Wynberg 14-0, beat DSG U16 7-3, beat Bridge House 7-1, beat DSG 2-1, beat Oakhill 8-3.
