High-powered lineup for Bay leadership summit in June
THE Bay business community will be addressed by senior executives from international companies such as MercedesBenz and Anglogold Ashanti at the upcoming Nelson Mandela Bay Leadership Summit 2015.
The summit takes place on June 10 at the Boardwalk Convention Centre in Port Elizabeth.
The one-day summit featuring senior executives from South African and Fortune 500 compa- nies was officially announced yesterday by the three event partners, the Ukuvula Foundation, The Herald and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) Business School.
The theme of this year’s summit is “Unearthing Leadership”.
The confirmed lineup of speakers for the event includes Mercedes-Benz South Africa chief executive Arno van der Merwe, University of the Free State vice-chancellor Jonathan Jansen, Anglogold Ashanti chairman Sipho Pityana, Lephatsi Holdings chief executive Herman Mashaba, AdvTech chief executive Leslie Maasdorp and NMMU chancellor Santie Botha.
The purpose of the summit is to explore visionary, responsible and forward-thinking leadership through the lenses and lessons of executives in leadership positions at high-performance or- ganisations, entrepreneurs and agents of change behind highly successful enterprises.
The event has become an important platform for leadership exchange, dialogue and debate, promoting leadership as a vital ingredient and integral process for unlocking growth, development and positive change in Nelson Mandela Bay.
Proceeds from the summit will go to the Ukuvula Founda- tion, a charitable, non-profit trust that was established to coordinate and fund social development initiatives.
