Happy snapping in Baakens

The exhibition will open on May 18, with selected works from the museum’s permanent collection showing scenes of the valley, harbour and surrounds.

On show will be works by the 19th-century artist and explorer Thomas Baines, and contemporary works by various artists. The exhibition marks International Museum Day and will run until the end of July.

The public may send snapshots to eobrien@mandelametro.gov.za . There is no limit to the number of images but the size limit is 2 meg. Large images must be sent in batches.

Pictures may also be posted on the museum’s Facebook page using #celebratingbaakensvalley.

The deadline is Tuesday and contributors whose work is chosen will get a mention.
