Larofa league reaching business end

THE three-horse race for the Larofa VW Community Trust premier soccer league title could be settled this weekend.

With five matches remaining, including this weekend’s double-header, five points separate the three contenders.

African Chiefs, who displaced Westhill United at the top last week, play Island City tomorrow and Young Chiefs on Sunday. While they should beat City, they might struggle against Young Chiefs, who are third.

Westhill, who trail Chiefs by two points, should have it easy against relegation-threatened Thunder Stars and Joe Slovo.

In their second match, Young Chiefs have a tricky fixture against United Brothers.

The fixtures are: Tomorrow: Greenfield United v Sundowns, African Chiefs v Island City, Moonlight City v Trymore, Langa Citizens v Young Profession­als, Golden City Press v Atlantic Spurs, Young Chiefs v United Brothers, Joe Slovo v Vuselela, Westhill United v Thunder Stars Sunday: Trymore v Golden City Press, Westhill United v Joe Slovo, Langa Citizens v Moonlight City, Young Chiefs v African Chiefs, United Brothers v Greenfield United. Thunder Stars v Young Profession­als, Sundowns v Atlantic Spurs MAJOR Chiefs and Kuyasa United, who are separated by three points, continue their battle for the Zwifa Ntando pre- mier league on Sunday. Chiefs play Swartkops United, while Kuyasa take on Zwide Celtic.

At the bottom of the log, Real Dodgers are certain to be relegated, while Manchester City, Real Crusaders and Campher United will battle it out to avoid filling the remaining relegation spot.
