Can Helenvale stay ahead of the field?

ALL eyes in the Nafa premier soccer league will be on the Finnis 1 field on Sunday when surprise logleaders Helenvale take on Blackpool.

Both teams are unbeaten and the Pool trail Helenvale by five points with a match in hand.

Westlake, who are also unbeaten and tied with Blackpool, will fancy their chances of picking up maximum points against Ebenezer in Windvogel. Ebenezer have just one point from four matches.

In what should be a close match, champions Glenville play Hotspurs at the Errol Heynes field, both teams having made a quiet start to the season.

The fixtures are: Sunday: Blackpool v Helenvale (Finnis 1), Glenville v Hotspurs (Errol Heynes), Wolves v Fairview Rovers (Gelvan 1), Westlake v Ebenezer (Windvogel), Swallows v Booysens Pride (Gelvan 2), Park United v Rangers (Arcadia), Bloom Callies v Stardrift (Finnis 2) THERE could be another flurry of goals in the Pefa premier league this weekend. Last Friday there were 23 goals in just three matches.

This evening Toshiba Old Grey should have the beating of Forresters when they clash at Old Grey. The visitors have one point from three matches.

At the Westbourne Oval, Hearts, who thrashed Motherwell Soccer Academy 9-0 in their last match, play NMB Municipali­ty.

The hapless Motherwell face NMMU Madibaz at the EC Command field tomorrow. The students put 10 past KwaDwesi All Stars without reply last week.

Stars could be in for another thrashing when they play Callies at Kemsley Park on Sunday.
