Tasty testers on offer
Delicious eats and drinks add to the big occasion
VISITORS to The Herald Boardwalk Bridal Fair are literally in for a treat, with delicious samples and testers on offer in the popular Sweet and Stylish room.
Bridal fair exhibitor Riette Wilken, from House of Bakes, invites bridal couples to join them in the room for tastings as well as the chance to win a wedding cake made by House of Bakes and sponsored by Old Mutual.
“We always try and showcase something new but are keeping the designs as a sur- prise,” she said about her bridal fair display.
Ralph Gottschalk, of The Pastryworks, will also have an array of treats on display, ranging from elaborate and elegant to creative and modern.
“We will be displaying everything from five-tier cakes to individual cakes, wedding favors in all shapes and sizes, and towers of macaroons to handmade pralines and bonbons.
“We will also be showcasing a dessert table,” he said.
The sweet treats should go well with wine tastings from four different Western Cape estates.
These will be on offer courtesy of Janco Kruger and his team from The Taste Room.
“We offer a different type of entertainment, something that even works as a fun activity for guests to do while the bridal couple have their photos taken,” Kruger said.
Brides can treat their mom, or mom-in-law to be, to lunch or their fabulous high tea.
Lunch is available at the lobby lounge from 11am to 6pm with a free draft beer with any R70 beef or chicken burger.
The traditional Saturday high tea will be served at R105 per person between 2.30pm and 3.30pm as well as 4pm and 5pm and features a pianist to add to the authentic feel.
Kipling’s Brasserie offers daily breakfast from 6am to 11am at R185 per adult, dinner daily between 6pm and 10pm and Sunday lunch from 1pm to 3pm at R175 per adult. Kids between the ages of five and 12 pay R85 and children under five eat free.
