Thrilling 10-goal draw

IN easily the best Pefa SCORE Premier League match this season, defending champions NMMU Madibaz and Callies shared the points in a 10-goal thriller at Londt Park on Friday evening.

Within the first 10 minutes, Farouk Abrahams struck twice for the home side. Midway into the half, Sachin Jackson pulled one back for the students.

The action continued as Kirk de Boer made it 3-1 and Kieran Koert made the half-time score 3-2.

Straight after the break, Abrahams completed his hat-trick (4-2), but Madibaz struck back with Jackson completing his brace (4-3).

Abrahams, who has been in rampant form this season, scored his fourth to put Callies 5-3 up as they appeared to be coasting to victor y.

The students did not throw in the towel and with 10 minutes remaining Achuma Klaas made it 5-4. Seconds before the final whis- tle Simkele Thobi scored the equaliser for Madibaz.

Across at Glendining­vale, Toshiba Old Grey edged out NMB Municipali­ty 2-1. John Giannakis and Adam Daniels scored on either side of the break for Old Grey.

Hearts beat a gallant Central Acemates 2-0. Mark Uppman scored from the penalty mark in the first half. Patience Kalume added the second after the break.

Acemates fought back gamely but failed to crack the Hearts’ defence.

At the East Cape Command field, Forresters beat PE Defence 3-2 after leading 2-0 at the break.

On Sunday, Warriors and KwaDwesi All Stars drew 1-1.

The teams crossed over with KwaDwesi leading 1-0 after a goal by Hlumelo Dumse. Justin Rockman equalised for Warriors deep in the second half.
