Pefa juniors in action

A TOTAL of 14 teams competed in the Pefa U9 soccer division on Sunday at the Priory fields.

In the big clash of the day, Priory United beat Hearts Lads 2-1 in a tense affair.

Callies Thistles held Priory Rangers to a goalless draw, while St George’s Cavaliers beat Priory Chiefs 4-0.

Priory City and Priory Pirates played to a 2-2 draw, with Kyle Edwards and Mbasa Jafta scoring a brace each.

Callies Braveheart­s beat Callies Saltires 5-0, with Ethan Hunter scoring a hat-trick.

In the U11 division, Motherwell Academy thumped Priory 8-1 and FC Mabayibone beat Callies B 11-0. St George’s A team beat their B team 9-0.

In the U13 division Mabayibone and Callies B drew 2-2.

Motherwell faced up against KwaDwesi All Stars in the U15 division, with KwaDwesi winning 5-4. All Motherwell’s goals came from the boot of Vuyolwethu Dinge.

Motherwell had their revenge in the U17 fixture, beating KwaDwesi 4-3.

Lukhanyo Dayi, Axolile Zana, Kuhle Sifanele and Sinethemba Mdingi scored for Motherwell.

The NMMU U15 team beat Callies A 3-1 at the Missionval­e campus fields, while the U17 fixture between these two clubs yielded a 0-0 draw.

Hearts U15 continued their winning ways with a 6-0 drubbing of United Brothers, Rizaan Davis scoring a hat-trick.

The St George’s B team beat Forresters 4-2 at the Union fields in Park Drive.

United Brothers U17 beat PE Homerovers 4-1.
