Must tell of involvement in scandal

-

WITH reference to letters from Dawood Beydon (“DA sniping at Jordaan loses the party my vote”, June 15) and Fred Rogers (“DA puts party before metro work”, June 19), regarding the DA, Danny Jordaan owes it to the people of the metro to inform us of his involvement in the Fifa drama.

He cancelled his trip to Switzerland at the 11th hour when arrests were being made in that country with regard to the Fifa bribery scandal. Why did that happen?

Rogers’s comment regarding DA councillors: our ward is DA run and represented by Dean Biddulph. Biddulph is the most proactive person I have dealt with and always puts the people he represents first.

The threat of a win by the DA in our metro has suddenly galvanised the ANC into action. We have Pravin Gordhan virtually living in our metro assisting with resolving the mess the metro is in.

The most critical issue in politics and governance is that the political party fears the electorate and understands that it is there to serve the people and improve the lives of the people.

I will believe the ANC means what it says about corruption when action is taken against Jacob Zuma, ensuring he goes to court to face the corruption charges, and locally that the people who have stolen and misappropriated more than R700-million with the IPTS scandal are brought to book and the taxpayers’ money recovered.

As an electorate let’s keep all the political parties on their toes through ensuring that we have a healthy balance of power and punish poor governance with our vote.
