WEEKEND Post’s SuperSport Let’s Play star of the month, Kaylene Corbett, made her mark at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa by scooping a silver medal.
Grade 10 Pearson High School pupil Corbett’s time of 1min 10.62sec was good enough to earn her silver in the 100m breaststroke.
South Africa’s rising talent produced more sparkling performances during the second day of the swimming programme with an additional six medals – one gold, two silver and three bronze.
Winning his second gold medal, Zane Waddell was over the moon with his time of 25.94 in the 50m backstroke ahead of Northern Ireland’s Conor Ferguson (26.19) and New Zealand’s Bayley Main (26.42).

Swimming SA’s high performance manager, Dean Price, said: “We are very happy with the performance of the swimmers.
“It is tough to travel so many time zones and race but we are very positive and looking to get even more medals in the final two days,” he said.
