Only one rule for kids at Boardwalk: have fun!

CHRISTMAS is coming early this year with delightful gift and clothing boutiques and big name children’s brands making their way to The Herald First Choice Kids and Baby Expo at The Boardwalk, giving an exciting opener to the start of the spring school holidays from October 2-4.

Visitors to the Eastern Cape’s biggest and best family expo can look forward to a number of new and existing exhibitors launching products with exclusive price offers and giveaways so you can bank on great savings and the added convenienc­e of a multitude of stores all under one roof.

The family event is once again attracting several new brands and products and family health, education and entertainm­ent exhibits.

National boutique Kids Emporium will have designer maternity wear, furniture, toys and gifts, gorgeous clothing and travel systems. There will also be “Sandi Jane Designs” with her magical hand-crafted doll houses, castles and adorable fairy gardens.

New exhibitor and top national optometric group Mellins i-Style will be offering a state of the art vision screening service for children on a first come first served basis. According to this group, more than half the children identified as problem learners have undetected vision problems.

The Zeiss i Profiler takes a “fingerprin­t” of the child’s eye and parents will receive a results card on the day from the optometris­t. Mothers can also win a Zeiss i Scription vision screening complete with designer eyewear from Mellin’s Baywest valued at R5 000.

The long list of competitio­ns, special offers and give-aways includes a free ice-cream and The Herald helium balloon for the kids. Also: ý Win a maternity package, baby or family photo shoot with Impact Photograph­y and Design;

ý Win a new born or toddler hamper from Heritage gifts valued at R1 000 each;

ý Sing a Song have reduced prices on personalis­ed CDs and DVDs for kids;

ý Smiley Kids Newton Park and Charlo are offering a discount of R150 on 2016 registrati­on fees when you hand in their coupon (in the event supplement in The Herald next Wednesday, September 30);

ý Home Choice will be offering a buy one, get one free on children’s bedding and an opportunit­y to win a gorgeous comforter or sleeping bag set by entering the lucky draw;

ý Great action for boys and girls in the play area with amazing rollerball, pedal go-karts, action cricket, virtual racing cars, toddler parks, the Little Munchkins Soft Play Park and Windsor Kids Play Park.

You can also meet and greet the First Choice mascot “Choco Cow’’. THIS is the second year that The Herald First Choice Kids and Baby Expo will be at the Boardwalk, but it is in a new venue, the Boardwalk Exhibition Level.

The all-day indoor action programme stretches from 9am to 6pm on Friday and Saturday and from 9am to 5pm on Sunday.

Tickets are R35 for adults and R20 for children. Pensioners and babies under 12 months attend for free.

All visitors have the opportunit­y of being a winner with prizes on offer every hour on the hour at the expo.

To win even more, look out for the entry form in The Herald every Friday including and up to October 2 to stand a chance of winning one of the wonderful family prizes valued at close to R85 000.
