Five held after raid on dagga den

-

FIVE people were arrested and 124kg of dagga worth R370 000 was confiscated during a raid on a Port Elizabeth property yesterday.

Police spokesman Sergeant Majola Nkohli said the bust on a house in Ntili Street, KwaNobuhle came after police reacted to an anonymous tip-off.

“The Crime Prevention Unit received a tip-off about drugs being stashed in a shack behind a house. The unit together with the K9 drug dog handlers raided the house and recovered several refuse bags containing ground dagga,” he said.

The owner and four tenants were arrested.

All five, aged between 21 and 53, are due to appear in the KwaNobuhle Magistrate’s Court today. – Gareth Wilson
