Bay youngster on fast track to fame

- Bobby Cheetham

YOUNG Port Elizabeth schoolboy Dominic Doyle is making a name for himself on the racing circuits of South Africa.

Dominic, 14, who attends Pearson High School in Summerstrand, has outpaced many riders in the KTM RC390 Cup.

He returned home at the weekend after the final rounds of the series were completed at the Dezzie Raceway in KWN.

Dominic finished second in race one and crashed out in race two, but it was still enough to obtain second place overall.

This is his first year in the competition and his first outing on all the circuits that he raced on.

His father, Ronnie Doyle, says Dominic is now hoping to find some assistance in the form of a sponsorship for next year, which is a great opportunity for any company wanting to get television coverage as the races are streamed live and are repeated twice a day for a week on ignition TV Cannel 189.

“We are also trying to get him a ride in an event next year in the RC 390 Cup in America,” his father says.
