Big Easter soccer tournament kicks off
THE Nodefa VW Community Trust Easter Soccer Tournament, which carries a first prize of R10 000, kicks off at the Jabavu Stadium this evening.
The runners-up will pocket R6 000, with the losing semifinalists receiving R2 000 each.
The teams have been divided into eight groups and will play a round robin. Play con- tinues tomorrow, Sunday and Monday, as well as Thursday and Friday.
The knockout stage will start next Saturday, with the finals scheduled for Easter Monday.
Amarhamba United (previously Manchester United) are in group G, along with Imbabala Young Stars, Cango Chiefs and Flamingo.
Runners-up Jamaican Stars are in group D along with Shooting Stars, City Style and Despatch Pioneers. Premier league champions.
Highland Spurs play City Friends tomorrow, while Imba- bala Young Stars play Island City.
