Accounting studies get boost at NMMU

-

NELSON Mandela Metropolitan University’s Business School and School of Accounting are set to add to their offerings through short learning programmes accredited by the internationally-rated Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

The official launch, scheduled for early next month, will see the formation and implementation of a partnership between NMMU’s School of Accounting and Business School and the institute.

School of Accounting director Professor Frans Prinsloo said the university was regarded as “a leading provider of professional accounting education”, and as such a number of NMMU’s formal qualifications were being granted CIMA exemptions.

The first CIMA-aligned short learning programmes will be presented from May this year.

CIMA’s qualification framework is internationally recognised as a leading set of qualifications in management accounting and finance. – Devon Koen
