Tribute show set to rock audience

MUSIC lovers can look forward to a night of classic rock at the Victoria Park sports club tonight when a group of well-known Bay musicians come together to pay tribute to some of the legends of rock from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s.

The show will feature Francois “The Boef” Hugo, pictured, on vocals, Kristo Zondagh on drums, Deon Mattheus on bass, Rob Thompson on guitar and Boet Strydom on the Hammond organ.

The show starts at 8pm at Eddie Mac’s at Victoria Park.

Among the bands and musicians whose tunes will be included are Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Joe Cocker, among many others, with Hugo particular­ly known for his characteri­stic Cocker sound.

Eddie Mac’s has a kitchen and bar that patrons may order from, including an eisbein special with a free draught tonight. Entrance is R100 at the door. For more info contact 083-225-1093.
