Next night relay on Tuesday

-

SUPPORT is growing for the monthly Town Lodge Business Night Relay, with round two taking place on Tuesday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Open to running teams of five and walking teams of three, the Night Relay offers local businesses and sports teams an opportunity to stay active during winter.

Many companies taking part in this year’s event have entered both walking and running teams. The split is 60-40 in favour of the running teams.

The next round starts at 6pm on Tuesday, with gates at the stadium opening at 4pm. Online registration for all new teams is mandatory, with an entry fee of R500 for a running team and R300 for a walking team.

All companies and teams who registered for round one only need to indicate their attendance for round two by making an EFT payment before Tuesday.

Series leaders and champions Gamble Pharmacy team will take some beating this year. Their strongest opposition so far has come from their mixed team, whom they just managed to pip in round one by a few seconds.

In the walking category the social team from Bluewater Bay are in a class of their own and it is going to take a group of serious walkers to challenge them.

The relay has each runner or walker completing a 3.5km route within the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
