Heard denies leaking violent Depp video

ACTRESS Amber Heard denies she was behind the leak of a shocking video of her estranged husband, Johnny Depp, ahead of their latest divorce hearing.

The video, published by gossip website TMZ, shows a violent Depp yelling, cursing and kicking, smashing a wine glass and bottle, and slamming kitchen doors.

In the video, Heard asks Depp why he was so angry.

“I just woke up and you were still asleep,” she says. “We’re not even fighting this morning. All I said was ‘sorry’.”

“Did something happen to you this morning?” Depp repeats. “I don’t think so.”

Then Depp says: “You wanna see crazy. I’ll show you . . . crazy.”

He pours the remaining contents of a bottle of wine into a glass.

When she asks if he drank the entire bottle that morning, he realises Heard’s phone is recording the entire exchange, and the footage ends abruptly.

It was reportedly filmed well before Heard filed for divorce in May, accusing the actor of domestic violence.

Friends of Depp’s said the video was “heavily edited”, and a “complete set-up”, TMZ reported.

Heard later released a statement denying she had leaked the video.

Its publication came a day before Heard appeared for a hearing into her request for a domestic violence restraining order.

Heard accused Depp of repeatedly hitting her and throwing a cellphone at her during a fight in their Los Angeles apartment in May.

She filed for divorce from Depp on May 23, and a few days later obtained a temporary restraining order.

There was speculation the video’s public release was timed to put pressure on the Depp camp for a divorce settlement.

The tape would likely be inadmissible in court, according to TMZ, partly because it is edited but, more importantly, because Depp was not aware he was being filmed.
