TASKS FOR NEW METRO COUNCIL

I TRUST the new council will make short work of dismantling all illegal electrical connections across Community Street in Walmer. Here is your opportunity to show your intent to clean up this municipality of all electricity theft, something our previous inept council could not achieve in 22 years.

SO the Kabuso report will at last be made public. M H JACOBS, UITENHAGE THE report was released in 2011, but there has been slow progress in pursuing legal action against those implicated. – The editor

WHERE’S DANNY JORDAAN?

WHERE is Danny Jordaan now? Yes, Jordaan never was a politician and never will be one. Hopefully Interpol and Fifa will pay you a surprise visit and then you can make news headlines again, but until then enjoy what you made on the gravy train. The DA has spoken as well as the people. Goodbye.

ANTON, SHERWOOD, PORT ELIZABETH

DANNY Jordaan stopped a landslide victory for the DA. People are angry and gatvol of arrogance. If it was not for Jordaan’s humble nature, 70% would have voted for the DA. He is also known as “Msindisi (Saviour)” Jordaan.

SHOW HAS BECOME RACIST, DIVISIVE

I, TOO, have stopped watching my once loved

Isidingo (“Unhappy with TV show”, August 11). It epitomised a togetherness, fun and laughter of a diverse culture but was inclusive, warm, cohesive and funny. No longer. It has become everything but. The storyline has now become divisive and racist.

DISAPPOINTED VIEWER, WALMER, PORT ELIZABETH FEATURE MOELETSI MBEKI MORE OFTEN WHAT a breath of fresh air is Moeletsi Mbeki. I just want to cling on every word he utters. Show him more often, SABC! OBSERVER ROOIBOS TEA TODAY NOT WHAT IT WAS THE article on rooibos tea is far fetched (“‘Beat age the rooibos way’ ”, August 12). Rooibos tea today is nowhere near the rooibos tea as I knew it as a child. My mother used to leave it on the stove, always ready to drink and you could smell it as soon as you walked in the door. The beautiful red colour and taste was much better then today’s rooibos. A MYBURGH, RICHMOND HILL, PORT ELIZABETH

DISGUSTING-LOOKING TRACKSUITS

WHO on earth designed the disgusting tracksuits that the South African Rio Olympics team have to wear? So embarrassing! LOLLIPOP

MONEY MAY GO TO LIQUIDATORS

REGARDING the R20-million rescue funding apparently offered to bail out our hapless rugby union (“Rescue package puts EP Rugby back in business”, August 5), it's my understanding that the EP Kings are in fact in liquidation. This being the case, surely any payments made to the union would in fact go to the liquidators and be used to settle the union's debts rather than towards the union itself? NORMAN
