Madibaz and Profiles keep titles in sight

-

NMMU the menEP first-leagueand Profiles squash women titles are withon tracktwo roundsto capture remaining.

The NMMU outfit were having a close tussle with Old Grey A at one stage, but they have leapt ahead in the past fortnight and are firmly on track for their fifth straight league triumph.

The Madibaz continued their good form of late with a solid 10-3 win over Profiles on Tuesday, with only Murray Schepers winning for his team.

Old Grey A defeated Westview 11-7 but they are 16 points behind the log leaders and are unlikely to make up the deficit with just two rounds remaining.

Profiles, with an impressive 55 points out of a possible 60 this half, have an equally decisive advantage in the women’s league.

They had one of their toughest challenges this week, edging past NMMU 10-8, but are 14 points ahead of Londt Park A.

However, the Londt Park side have some individual ties which still need to be played and Profiles will not be taking anything for granted at this stage.

Their clash on Tuesday, however, could be the league decider and a win for Profiles should give them an unassailable lead.
