REFUSE NOT COLLECTED
REFUSE was not collected the whole of last week in Charlo, Lovemore Heights, etc. Will we get a credit for non-collection? Are municipal workers going to claim overtime and collect refuse? Old tactic. We are getting sick and tired now. WANDELE JONAS
GOOD POINT MADE
“GIVE DA-led coalition in the metro a break” (May 26). A good point indeed, Malcolm Dodds. BRUNO
BOBANI LETTING UDM DOWN
MONGAMELI Bobani is being played by the ANC and he’s fallen for the bait. Unprofessional and unethical behaviour. Grow up, big man. You are letting our UDM party down. Bantu Holomisa, you must crack the whip on this lazy man. We need leadership, not noise. OBSERVER
MONGAMELI Bobani, you are nothing. Say thank you to your leader, Bantu Holomisa, that you are deputy mayor. Stop being negative. Athol Trollip is the mayor and a good one. Focus ahead. Come 2019 the ANC must go. LOGIE
SIZE OF CHIRPS
THE note above the Your Chirps column clearly states that chirps can be a maximum of 160 characters, but two out of five exceed that today [May 24]. Please clarify. VICTOR MELDREW THE Herald’s service provider, Smart Call Technology Solutions, comments: “SMSes are still billed per 160 characters, so if you send more than the 160 characters you will charged twice. Handsets these days are able to send multiple SMSes in one message, but the networks will still charge depending on the number of characters in the message.”
In light of this reply to the reader’s query, we have removed reference to the maximum permitted size of an SMS from the top of the Your Chirps column. – The editor
WHY WAS MBEKI UNSEATED SO QUICKLY?
HOW come the ANC managed to unseat Thabo Mbeki so quickly? I never understood the reasons for his quick departure. STUPID
