- Mogan Segadavan segadavanm@timesmedia.co.za

TWO thrilling matches are expected in the Walmer premier soccer league this weekend.

Peace United and Eleven Experience, who are separated by goal difference on the log, clash on the Walmer Community Field tomorrow.

Both teams had close calls last week. Peace edged out Airport Valley United 3-2, while Experience struggled to a 2-1 win over Manchester United.

Peace take on log-leaders Golden Heroes, who have a three-point buffer, on Sunday.

Heroes face a tough match against Morning Stars tomorrow after Stars thrashed Brazil United 6-0 last week.

African Aces could leapfrog the frontrunners as they have two easy matches. They play Walmer Stars (12th) tomorrow and tail-enders Young Aces on Sunday.

Ghetto Stars, who scored an upset 2-1 win over African Aces last week, could also make inroads on the log. They play Airport Valley United and Brazil United.

While they should beat Brazil easily, especially after their big loss last week, they will need to up their game against Airport Valley.

Despite their lowly position, Airport Valley put up a good fight against Peace last week, going down 3-2.

Mabayibone Strikers, who have been the disappointment of the season, should make up lost ground when they play Young Aces and Real Madrid.

AFTER dropping their first points by default last week, Highbury will be hoping to make amends on Sunday when they play Vuku Wanderers at the Stinging Bees field.

The Safa-NMB log-leaders thrashed Kubs 8-0 on Saturday but were forced to forfeit their match against Warriors the following day when the match official ruled that their home ground was not properly marked.

Highbury’s loss was African Chiefs’ gain as they drew level on points after beating Wanderers (2-0) and PE United (4-2).

Chiefs play Tomorrow Stars, who were thrashed 5-0 by NMMU Madibaz last week.

Madibaz and Warriors clash in a test of strength at Dower College.

They are fourth and fifth respectively on the log, being separated by one point.

With just one point separating the top five teams in the B stream, there should be several changes in the log positions on Sunday.

Log-leaders Zwide All Stars play tail-enders Walmer Ladies at the Zwide Stadium.

Golden Stars, who trail Zwide on goal difference, play Bodene at Dower College.

Bodene are a point behind Golden.

Park United and Volcano, who are at level-pegging with Bodene, clash in the late game at Dower College.
