BWA/Investec 2017 Regional Business Achievers Awards
TONIGHT we honour the very best businesswomen in the region during the annual BWA Investec Regional Business Achievers Awards (RBAA), hosted at The Boardwalk Hotel and Convention Centre.
A highlight on the annual social calendar of Nelson Mandela Bay, the glitzy event pays tribute to the region’s remarkable businesswomen who have achieved noteworthy milestones in their careers and businesses.
“The calibre of our phenomenal finalists is always exciting and inspiring as women increasingly employ their determination and creativity to meet the challenges of today’s working world,” BWA Port Elizabeth chairperson, Michelle Brown, says.
Finalists in all six categories have impacted greatly in the various sectors where they craft their diverse career paths.
Winners will be announced in the following categories: Emerging Entrepreneur, Entrepreneur, Social Entrepreneur, Corporate, Professional and Government.
The engaging RBAA participation process not only recognises but also enriches the careers of finalists and winners, many of whom go on to achieve even greater success, Brown said.
“The RBAA applauds the efforts and ethics of our female business leaders, who usually wear a number of hats in addition to their working responsibilities.
Their stories – often of success against all odds - reveal powerful lessons that motivate us all to reach higher and fulfil our ambitions.”
The prestigious annual Awards acknowledge the economic and social contribution of female entrepreneurs and professionals in the greater Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) region. A wholly independent panel of judges, made up of a broad cross-section of city leaders share their valuable time and expertise freely during the RBAA interview process. The entire judging process is audited.
From the pool of 16 finalists, it is their task to select just one in each of the six categories who stands out above the rest.
